I am an experienced and passionate educator with over a decade of teaching and leadership experience in independent schools, currently serving as Head of Geography at a top British boarding school. My teaching is grounded in academic rigour, creativity, and a commitment to nurturing intellectual curiosity in every learner. I have taught GCSE and A-Level Geography across a range of exam boards, with a consistent track record of top-grade outcomes, Oxbridge success, and value-added progress. I also have experience teaching Maths up to Year 9, having done so in the state sector, as well as History and RS.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have held senior roles in curriculum design, teacher development, and strategic academic leadership. I am currently completing the NPQSL and hold a Master’s in Education, with research focused on pedagogy and mastery learning. I bring a deep understanding of how to tailor learning to each pupil’s needs, enabling high achievers to reach their potential and supporting those who need a more structured or confidence-building approach.

My tutoring style is personable and adaptive. I enjoy helping students develop not just subject knowledge, but also critical thinking, essay-writing, and independent learning habits. Whether preparing for entrance exams, GCSEs, A-Levels, or university applications, I aim to build confidence and insight through structured support and academic stretch.

As a father myself and a former Head of Year, I value clear communication with families and understand the broader developmental journey that underpins academic success. I am now looking to support pupils through Keystone’s platform, offering high-quality tutoring that fits flexibly around my teaching role.

Having taught a great number of students over the years I have found that each of them learns and makes sense of their subjects in very particular ways. As such, I always aim to get to build a strong initial relationship with students and get to know what approaches they prefer when it comes to their learning. I consider myself calm yet passionate for my subjects, and am keen to use modern and digital techniques to enhance learning.

I am currently Head of Geography, where I lead a thriving department known for academic excellence and innovative teaching. Alongside this, I am completing the NPQSL and continue to support whole-school initiatives around teaching and learning. My work is focused on deepening subject expertise, mentoring staff, and refining curriculum design to stretch and support pupils at all levels.

Over the next few years, I plan to broaden my impact beyond the classroom through selective tutoring, leadership development, and possible future roles in senior academic leadership. I am particularly interested in working with motivated students who are aiming for top grades, entrance exams, or Oxbridge admission, and I look forward to complementing my school role with meaningful one-to-one teaching through Keystone.
