I am a full-time maths specialist with over 15 years’ experience. I help students make rapid, lasting progress, from rebuilding foundations and confidence to top-end 11+ and 13+ preparation and achieving the grades they are capable of at GCSE and A Level. I have coached students into highly selective independent schools and I am equally comfortable supporting anxious strugglers or stretching high performers who want to compete at the highest level.

I often work with two types of student. One is the bright child who has lost confidence and needs calm rebuilding, step by step, until maths starts to make sense again. The other is the very able student who needs stretching, elite problem solving, and high-level exam technique to perform under pressure. My focus is always the same: clear understanding, calm confidence, and strong exam performance, without the stress and tears that maths can sometimes create at home.

I grew up in London and studied Maths and Physics at A Level before going on to the University of Nottingham, graduating with a 2:1 Honours degree. In 2014 I became Head of Maths Tuition at a London secondary school, where I led the programme and helped raise performance across year groups. Since then I have continued tutoring full-time, working with families who want a tutor who is structured, dependable, and easy to work with.

I am methodical about working out what is really getting in the way, whether that is gaps in knowledge, weak foundations, low confidence, rushing, careless errors, or difficulty with worded and multi-step questions. When tuition has not worked in the past, it is usually because the approach did not match the student, or because progress was not measured properly. I make sure we identify the block early and fix the root cause, not just do more questions.

Most students follow a simple rhythm. I start with a quick diagnostic, then we build a clear plan with short-term goals. Lessons are calm, focused, and supportive. I explain methods clearly, then make sure students can use them independently through targeted practice, mixed questions, and routines that reduce avoidable mistakes. For selective entrance and scholarship-level work, we also train speed with accuracy, structured thinking on unfamiliar problems, and confidence under time pressure.

I keep expectations high while keeping the atmosphere relaxed. Students feel comfortable asking questions, and they learn to tackle challenge without panic.

Outside of tutoring, I recently became a father. I have a one-year-old son and, when I am not working, I love spending time with him and showing him the world.

I am also involved in film and television. I have worked on TV as an actor, and as a writer I have had a comedy pilot optioned. I enjoy the mix of creativity and discipline that comes with screen work, and I am currently writing and directing a short film.
