The University of Oxford discontinued the Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT) after the 2025 admissions cycle. From the 2026 admissions round, Oxford uses the TMUA instead.
If you are currently applying to Oxford for Mathematics, Computer Science or a relevant joint course, you should prepare for the TMUA rather than the MAT.
We currently don't have any profiles available to view for this subject. However, not all our tutors are listed publicly on our website so please do get in touch if you would like to enquire about tutor availability.
Feedback on our Maths Admissions Test Tutors
"Alex has been an excellent tutor for my daughter. She has learned so much from him and we appreciate all of his effort and thoughtful teaching. His experience, knowledge and care for her studies has been among the best she’s has in her life. We will continue with Alex in prep for her interviews."
Parent of MAT student"I have just finished my MAT and am very happy with how it went. [The] rest of my friends found it quite hard, so I think I have a very good chance of getting in. Thank you for all the support you have given me in the last three months, I am very grateful for all the help you have given me."

Finding the right tutor for each child
We go the extra mile to match a great tutor with your child and ensure a perfect fit.
When you request a tutor through Keystone we spend a significant amount of time learning about your circumstances. Priding ourselves on how well we know our tutors’ specialist strengths and university institution experience, we ensure that we put forward the very best tutor for your requirements.
During the first session the tutor starts by assessing where the child is at, their academic ability, their strengths and perceived weaknesses. Tutors will then devise a programme tailored to the specific circumstances of the student and your target course.
After the first lesson, one of our dedicated client managers will contact you to find out how the lesson went. Our client managers are always available at the end of the phone and they are frequently praised for their efficiency, dedication and responsiveness.

FAQs
We have a monthly reporting system which is used to update parents on an ongoing basis. The monthly report details:
- the focus of that month’s tutoring
- the form of assessment used
- the student's achievements and areas for further work
- the focus for the coming month
The regular, rigorous reporting of the tutors we represent is frequently commended by parents.
Yes, we offer a trial lesson. With Keystone, you are not required to sign up for any minimum number of lessons, and we offer one-off paid trial lessons so that your child can determine if the fit is right for them. This allows students and parents tutoring through Keystone before committing to regular sessions. The trial lesson is charged at the tutor’s full hourly rate and there is no obligation to continue if you feel it's not the right match.
